Blossom! Live! Eat well!

Blossom! Live! Eat well!

Welcome to Coaching Cooking. I don’t know where you are with cooking or your eating. This blog will cover as many aspects of cooking as I can come up with. Lots will be healthy eating and cooking. Others will cover… .

Today I want to talk about your/my health where you are now and where you can move towards.

Answer the following questions:
Are you often fatigued?
Do you work all day and most of the night? (House and family at home?)
Do you eat on the run? (I do, often for years)
Joint issues? (Yes)
Headaches?
Female troubles?
Irritability?
Overweight? (count me in)
Smoke?
Trouble sleeping? (sometimes)
Infertility?

Some of this may be inadequate nutrition. Some is the food we eat. For the last 5 years I have worked PT in a health food store. Before that I had over 30 years on and off paying close attention to alternative health and healing. One thing I learned quickly at the store is that people want to take pills before eating right, or better.

So in the last 2 plus years, I have had another period of dealing with joint issues. Most just say, oh it’s part of getting older. Not true. Had no insurance. Had no extra cash for a doctor. Have lots of supplements. Have improved, but not better. Have access to pool and sauna thanks to a fine friend.

So on a really bad night, a customer friend said see Dr Dan. She also said, “he’ll treat you for free” I took one free session and then arranged a very flexible payment plan. This opportunity has literally changed my life. Gradually it has also changed the way I eat. Dramatically. I still take supplements and sell them. Ocassionally I have bad days. I have been over a month with no need for a cane. I have lost 20 pounds since Thanksgiving.

If you want to change how you feel, change how you eat. It really works. Most of my readers will not be as far gone as I was. Good. Many of my readers are Mothers and Dads who are concerned about their children’s nutrition. If you answered 3 of the above questions with a yes, then changing your diet can really make a difference.

Ok there is is a lot between these two vidoes. Make a list of fodd you have in the cabinets. Create a list of foods you now have. Place in one of two columns. Healthy/Not. Practise cooking with the healthy ones for three days. Come back again for feeding your health…again and often. Mary

My Favorite Pizza, So Far

prep work for BBQ chicken pizza
I love Trader Joe’s BBQ chicken pizza, but I was even more pleased when my friend Alisha made one from scratch. I decided to follow her lead and give it a go, as well.

I stocked up on
these ingredients:
bag of wheat pizza dough from Trader Joe’s
BBQ sauce ” ” ”
yellow corn
red onion
4 oz ball of mozzarella
can of pineapple chunks
2 chicken breasts

pizza before going into ovenAfter pulling the dough out of the fridge, the first thing you’ll want to do is season your chicken breasts. I used chipotle chili powder, garlic, and a tablespoon on bbq sauce, mixed together and brushed on. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Go ahead and chop a few slices of red onion and drain the a few spoons of pineapple.

Later….
